Event Recap | HKU Business School 2025-2026 Masters Mentorship Programme
Exciting news! The HKU Business School 2025-2026 Masters Mentorship Programme has officially kicked off! The programme aims to build an interactive platform for our faculty’s postgraduate students that goes beyond the classroom, encouraging continuous growth, sharing industry knowledge, and expanding career perspectives through mentorship.
This year, we are honoured to invite 45 mentors from various business backgrounds. These professionals include middle to high management executives and alumni of our Masters Programmes with over 15 years of experience in consultation, finance, fintech, marketing, banking, business analytics, and management. They are passionate about sharing their valuable experiences, professional insights, and networking resources to help a new generation of students thrive.
At the kick-off ceremony, Prof. Hailiang CHEN, Assistant Dean (Taught Postgraduate), warmly welcomed both mentors and mentees. He thanked the mentors for dedicating their time and expertise, and encouraged students to seize the opportunity to continue learning and expanding their horizons through the mentorship programme.
Alumni from the past mentorship programmes then shared their personal experiences. Drawing from their own journeys, they spoke about how mentoring helped them grow and seize opportunities, encouraging new mentees to be proactive in their learning and use the mentorship programme as a bridge to the real business world.
During an interactive networking session, mentors and mentees connected through SoundWave Methodology to break the ice. They learned more about each other through shared laughter and camaraderie, laying a solid foundation for further exchange and collaboration.
In the coming year, all selected mentees will engage with their mentors through a series of professional seminars, workshops, roundtable discussions, and networking receptions. These sessions will provide insights into industry trends and bestow them with leading advice to empower their personal career development.
