Hi there! I’m Anthony, a counsellor for the Masters Programmes. I believe that people are naturally resourceful, curious and kind with flexibility. I love soaking up the sunshine, feeling the breeze, and being by the sea—anything that connects me with nature. That’s why I enjoy hiking and trail running; it’s my way of getting close to nature. Feel free to reach out to me and let’s explore new possibilities together at HKU Business School!
Mr. Anthony CHIU

The HKU Business School offers a free Counselling and Wellness Service exclusively for students enrolled in the full-time specialized Masters programmes.
In order to support students’ wellbeing and mental health, the service provides confidential, professional support in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English through 50-minute one-on-one sessions, with a recommended course of 3 to 10 sessions. In certain cases, unlimited sessions are available for students requiring long-term care. Students can request appointments by completing the online booking form below.
In addition to individual support, a variety of wellness activities are organized throughout the academic year to address different student needs, fostering overall well-being and personal growth as students adapt to university life.

FAQs
Counselling is a professional service where trained counsellors help you explore your feelings, thoughts, and behaviours. It can provide support, develop coping strategies, and promote mental well-being during challenging times.
Yes, confidentiality is a fundamental aspect of counselling. Your privacy is respected. At no time, except in emergencies, will any information regarding you or your counselling be released to any third-party without your written consent.
No, you do not need a diagnosed condition. Many people seek counselling for stress, anxiety, relationship issues, or personal growth. It’s beneficial for anyone looking to improve their emotional health.
Each counselling session is 50 mins to 1 hour long. Depending on individual needs, some people benefit from a few sessions like 3 sessions, while others may need longer-term support. Your counsellor will work with you to develop a suitable plan.
The frequency of sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. Some clients attend weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Your counsellor will work with you to determine a schedule that is most effective for your progress.
To get the most out of your sessions, consider reflecting on what you’d like to discuss, setting personal goals, and being honest and open with your counsellor. It can also help to write down questions or topics beforehand to ensure you cover everything important to you.
