My cohort pioneered new territory in Hong Kong’s financial education landscape. Under the guidance of Professor Henri Arslanian, the course became a gateway to industry innovations. Professor Arslanian’s real industry experience made everything incredibly relevant to market developments. The impact of faculty mentorship extended beyond the classroom. I was in very good touch with my professors and they helped me a lot when I was looking for a job. One of the professors even introduced me to his connections at UBS and Bank of America.
After graduating, I worked for State Street and Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong, focusing on treasury operations. My exposure to Fintech through HKU opened unexpected doors. When faced with choosing between traditional banking and a start-up opportunity in Switzerland, Professor Arslanian’s lessons proved crucial. Through following him for years, His guidance proved pivotal and I eventually launched my own start-up.
With a strong interest in finance and capital markets, I chose HKU Business School to further my studies, attracted by its top-tier faculty, strong alumni network, and extensive career support. At HKU, I received world-class education from leading professors and engaged in stimulating discussions with my exceptional peers. I was particularly inspired by the guidance and support of Prof. Rujing Meng, whose courses combined industry trends with in-depth knowledge and humanity. Prof. Meng’s courses were very challenging. In addition to providing academic guidance, she always supported her students’ growth. When my exam results were lower than expected, she encouraged me with patience and helped me regain my confidence.
