Event Recap | HKU Business School Orientation 2025
We are thrilled to welcome around 3,000 outstanding students from all corners of the globe to HKU Business School! During a two-day orientation, we introduced them to the endless possibilities awaiting them as Masters students.
To kick off the orientation, Prof. Pingyang Gao, Associate Dean (Taught Postgraduate) and Prof. Hailiang Chen, Assistant Dean (Taught Postgraduate), delivered a heartfelt welcoming speech, encouraging students to seize the year ahead, explore the unknown with courage, and push themselves beyond their personal limits.
To help students adjust to their new life in Hong Kong, Ms. Ida CHEANG, Executive Director of Masters Programmes, prepared a thoughtful Hong Kong Living Guide, covering useful information on visas, accommodation and transportation.
Ms. Serena TANG, Director of Career Development and Training, proudly introduced our longstanding partnerships with various renowned corporations, which provide our students with numerous advantages. She also encouraged students to make full use of the career services to find their dream internship or job more efficiently, helping them on the path to achieving their career aspirations.
Our extraordinary alumni – hailing from finance, consulting, wealth management and marketing sectors – shared their first-hand experiences studying at HKU and offered valuable tips, giving new students meaningful guidance on their academic and career journeys.
Programme Directors introduced their courses in an engaging manner, covering core structures and electives to help students gain a clear understanding of how to pursue their academic goals.
At the end of the orientation, students got to know each other better through interactive games, inspiring friendships through laughter and camaraderie.
